To continue a tradition I became extremely fond of in 2010 (when WebsiteBegin first came to be), I have decided to carry on the monthly “mash-up” posts I posted.
The idea of the monthly mash-up(s) is simple – to honour the amazing members of my community, and point out the greatest content on the internet in the niches of website development, management, design, social media, and other pertaining areas.
Without further ado, let’s hop on into it and take a peak at the best of the best content published this month (December).

You will see me thank my readers and commentators quiet often – they make this whole thing possible. I’d like to thank these five commentators for coming around repeatedly. There were others, but they made the top of the list with their quality comments, and have received a bit of traffic from WebsiteBegin because of it! Thanks, guys!

If you’d like to have one of your wonderful articles featured in next month’s monthly mash-up, simply make me aware of your article! Doing so is as easy as leaving a comment on any post (I read and visit nearly every website linked to), or contact me!
I’ll cut it to you straight – I follow over 270 blogs in my niche via Google Reader. I give each and every one special attention when they provide great content – be the person to provide great content (and let me know about it), and you’ll be sure to hop onto here – that’s where all of the featured posts came from!

Hi Joe
Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for the mention. It means a lot.
I hadn’t noticed that your RSS feed hadn’t been updating in my RSS reader so apologies I’ve not been back for a while! It’s fixed now so I’ll know when you post the next time.
Here’s to a happy 2013!

Hey Tim! Happy new year! I’m glad you’re providing awesome content – I really like your blog and stop by pretty often.
As for my RSS feed, it could have been my lack of posts as of recently. That is changing, but there was a span of very little content, simply because of a new project that will be announced in next week’s podcast.
Joe, many thanks for the mention of one of my posts.
I was quite surprised actually, and came across the mention whilst browsing your sites posts….
Hope the post mentioned does not come across as too negative, as it was meant to shed some light on “ultra black hat” style activity that I have noticed on the web…
Joe, I am also following a large number of sites that would run into the hundreds, though, not all through Google reader….
With my compulsive browsing habits, I always seem to come back to sites I am familiar with, either in the search engines results, or via a comment they(sites I am familiar with) may have left whilst we are both reading the same blog post…so if their post link looks interesting I go and have a read….
Though, I will admit using Google reader makes things much easier, and far more organized…to keep up with latest posts of sites we are following…..
Again many thanks for the mention, Joe,
Danny

Danny, you’re very welcome. The post did not come across as negative – I actually really enjoyed it (which, as you guessed, is why I added it). I felt it was very appropriate with the recent anger over Google’s algorithm updates.
I do follow a number of blogs that aren’t on Google Reader – ones that I just visit daily for the purpose of reading. GR is a really helpful tool, though – one that I’ve covered a few times in previous articles. I have the same habit
Thanks for stopping by, Danny! Keep up the great work!
